Conservation Leadership Immersion Experience (CLIME) Program
APPLY NOW!
Global climate and biodiversity crises call for multidisciplinary conservation that reflects the full diversity of available knowledge, creativity, perspective and experience.
The Conservation Leadership Immersion Experience (CLIME) aims to strengthen and diversify conservation leadership by supporting undergraduates to transition successfully to high-impact conservation graduate training and careers through funded training, internships, and sustained mentoring.
Who can apply?
Our program is geared towards current college juniors & seniors (those that plan to graduate in 2026 or 2027) from any 4-year college/university in the United States. We can accept US citizens, permanent residents, undocumented students, refugees, tribal citizens exercising their rights under the Dawes Act, and many folks who call the United States home. Unfortunately we are unable to accept students who would require a student visa to study within the United States.

UC Santa Cruz Land Acknowledgement
The land from which we base our work is the unceded territory of the Awaswas-speaking Uypi Tribe. The Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, comprised of the descendants of indigenous people taken to missions Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautista during Spanish colonization of the Central Coast, is today working hard to restore traditional stewardship practices on these lands and heal from historical trauma.
