The Conservation Leadership Immersion Experience (CLIME) has four key elements:

  • A two-week, in-person Conservation Leadership Immersion where Scholars form tightly-knit supportive cohorts;
  • An 8-week Internship Experience with an excellent mentor to gain experience in collaborative conservation science and action;
  • A week-long series of remote Fall Workshops where Scholars share summer outcomes and prepare to apply to graduate school and jobs in conservation; and
  • Attendance at a national conference with program mentors to present research and build relationships across a national network of conservation leaders

Scholars receive a stipend, as well as funded travel and lodging for each program element (leadership immersion, internship and a professional conference).

2026 Program Dates:

  • Conservation Leadership Immersion: May 31 – June 13
  • Internship Experience: June 15 – August 7 (dates are potentially flexible)
